Trim a video to an exact start and end time and download the selected clip as MP4.
Uploading
Only upload media you have permission to process. Inputs are removed after processing; results expire after 30 minutes. No account required.
What this tool does
Cut Video trims your video to the interval you choose and re-encodes the selection as a standard H.264 MP4. Re-encoding makes the cut frame-accurate instead of snapping to the nearest keyframe, with a small tolerance of about ±0.35 seconds.
How to enter times
Use seconds (75 or 75.5) or hours:minutes:seconds (00:01:15). Start must come before end, and both must sit inside the video. The fields start with an example five-second range — replace it with your own.
Supported formats and limits
Input: MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM or AVI up to 128 MiB, 10 minutes and 1080p. Output: MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio at 128 kbps). The selected range cannot extend beyond the video duration.
Common errors and fixes
INVALID_TIME_RANGE: end is not after start, or a time falls outside the video. INVALID_FILE: the media could not be read as supported video. PROCESSING_TIMEOUT: very long selections can exceed the 15-minute budget — cut in two passes if needed.
Good to know
How do I select a clip?
Enter a start and end time within the video duration. The clip is re-encoded for accurate cuts.
Is the cut lossless?
No. The selected part is re-encoded to guarantee an accurate cut point, independent of where keyframes fall. The result is standard H.264 quality.
How accurate is the cut?
The output duration matches the requested interval within about ±0.35 seconds, which keeps picture and sound in sync at both ends.
Can I cut a 4K or multi-hour video?
No. Sources are limited to 1080p and 10 minutes in this release. Split longer videos locally first, then cut the part you need here.
Why did my result include extra moments at the edges?
Encoding starts and ends on complete frames, so the edges can differ from your request by a few tenths of a second. Set your times with that tolerance in mind.
What quality is the output?
The clip is encoded as H.264 with AAC audio at 128 kbps, web-optimized for quick playback and sharing.
What are the file limits?
Up to 128 MiB, 10 minutes and 1920 pixels on either edge (2073600 total pixels; portrait supported), with up to 8 audio/video streams. Processing time depends on the operation. Uploads resume from the last completed chunk during this session; paused uploads expire after 15 minutes.
How long are files kept?
Inputs and temporary files are deleted after processing or failure. Download results within 30 minutes.
How to use Cut Video
- Select an authorized mp4, mov, mkv, webm, avi file.
- Choose the available options and start processing. Keep this browser session open — if you refresh, an in-flight task is offered for recovery on this page.

Converting between formats can change quality, and compression savings depend on the original codec and settings; some files may not become smaller.
